Lake in centre above train wires! |
I then crossed over the road and looked at some of the buildings. There was a school - the only reason I knew it was a school was because it had Koulu on it, to me it certainly didn't look like a school.
There was also a traditional wooden house. I have been surprised that many of the houses are built from wood. Pirjo explained that they retain the heat in the winter and are cool in the summer.
I have been noticing the change in the flowers and trees. It feels as though we are moving into summer already. I had seen many wild plants that looked like lupins and I found some that were flowering and the lilac is now in full bloom.
I then walked back, finding a short cut which was slightly challenging as I came down the stones!
I shall now enjoy having my tea and catching up on The Apprentice on BBC I-player!
Looks like you took yourself on some sort of mini-assault course! Definitely more challenging terrain than walking round Lenton! I think the discovery of train lines would have kept me entertained, had I been taking the walk, although I'd definitely have wanted to wait to see a train pass!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how it's only just over a week now until you come back. I don't know how long it's felt like to you, or how long it's felt for the rest of the family at home, but the time has flown by for me.
Looking forward to seeing you soon,
Rob x
Yes - I did think of you when I saw the rails!!
ReplyDeleteIt has felt like a very long time in many ways I think because I have done so much.
Looking forward to seeing you too - I have enjoyed my time away immensely but it will be nice to come home.
xx
Man alive can you imagine the moaning that would of occurred if I had been made to do that walk. I think thats the beauty of your blog I can experience it all without having to put in any of the physical work :)
